Order on easing moisture norms for procuring paddy not issued yet, says Stalin

STALIN said the state is expecting the marketable surplus of paddy to be 98.25 lakh tonnes (66.81 lakh tonnes of rice) during the current year’s procurement season up to August 31, 2026.

The CM said that despite field visits by three central teams in the last week of October, no order on relaxing the moisture content for paddy procurement has been issued so far. Since the Kharif (Kuruvai) procurement is still under way, and the NE monsoon will intensify again, the CM has urged that
