Cops Stop Bid to Slaughter Goats Near Hill Temple

THE police on Saturday prevented Muslims from taking goats and chicken for slaughter and organising a feast at the Hazrat Sultan Sikkandar Badusha Dargah, near Tiruparankundram Hill.

They had attempted to take goats for Kanduri festival to the dargah last month, but police prevented them, claiming that while they can offer worship at the dargah, they do not have permission to sacrifice the animals. Muslim outfits registered their protest against the police's statements.
