Accused sent to police custody till October 28
POLICE on Saturday arrested a software engineer in connection with the 26-year-old woman doctor's suicide case in Maharashtra’s Satara district, while the main accused, suspended police sub-inspector Gopal Badane, is absconding.
A team from Phaltan police arrested Prashant Bankar, son of the woman doctor’s landlord and one of the two men she had named ina suicide note written on her palm, from Pune, police officials said. Bankar, accused of mentally harassing the victim and now facing abetment of suicide charge, was later produced before a Satara district court which sent him to police custody till October 28.
