Drones as Tracking Tools Drones are today extensively used to track the movement of wildlife to prevent man-animal conflict, early detection of forest fires, enabling quicker response time and minimizing damage to forest ecosystems. Around 20 drones have been deployed in STR to keep a watch on poachers and prevent wildfire. Specialized drone units have been formed in the tiger reserve for the purpose.
