DRDO Conducts Successful Test Flights of Pralay
The New Indian Express Bhubaneswar
|July 30, 2025
Amid mounting cross-border tensions, one more Pakistan-specific ballistic missile is ready for deployment as the indigenously-developed Pralay (literally meaning apocalypse) cleared user validation trials during the twin tests in two days from a defence facility off Odisha coast.
Defence sources said two rounds of the tactical short-range ballistic missile were successfully test-fired from the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam island-based launching complex-IV of the integrated test range (ITR) on Monday and Tuesday.
Developed by DRDO, the missiles precisely followed the intended trajectory, demonstrated mid-air manoeuvres and hit-to-kill with pin-point accuracy, meeting all the mission objectives and indicating maturity of the system for battlefield deployment, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement.
