Minister Sees Terror Link in Kathua Deaths, Home Secy Reviews Security

A day after the corpses of three persons, who had gone missing on March 5, were recovered from a waterfall in Billawar area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Sunday attributed the "killings" to terrorists.

The state government has ordered a 'thorough and transparent' investigation into the incident.

Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan also rushed to Jammu on Sunday to review the security situation. A high-level meeting was attended by top police officials, security and intelligence officials.

Three residents of Billawar area in Kathua, identified as Darshan Singh (40), Yogesh Singh (32), and Varun Singh (15), had gone missing on March 5 while attending a marriage function in the Lohai Malhar village in Billawar.

On Saturday, their bodies were recovered from upper reaches of Billawar after security forces deployed drones for aerial surveillance and located their bodies in a waterfall.
