Govt forms panel with banks, NBFCs for infra financing

THE government has constituted a working group with representatives from major public and private banks and non-bank lenders to strengthen credit flow to the infrastructure sector, people aware of the matter confirmed.
The panel, led by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), includes representatives from public service banks like State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, and private banks like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, along with NABARD, Power Finance Corp., REC, IREDA, India Infrastructure Finance Co. Ltd., and NaBFID.
