DC Orders Flood Preparedness and Coordinated Response

WITH heavy rain continuing in neighboring Maharashtra, the inflow into rivers in Belagavi district has increased. To effectively manage any potential flood-like situations in villages along riverbanks, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan has directed all departments to coordinate closely and remain fully prepared.
He was speaking during a video conference meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority held at the DC's office conference hall on Saturday.
Highlighting the rising water levels in reservoirs due to intense rainfall in the ghat areas of Maharashtra, he emphasized maintaining constant communication with officials there and obtaining regular updates on dam water levels. The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to make necessary preparations for the possible evacuation of people and livestock from villages prone to flooding.
