THE AI storm is finally here, and as feared it is taking away jobs.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's largest IT services firm, plans to lay off 2% of its global workforce in line with the company's broader strategy to become 'future-ready'. In absolute terms, 12,260 employees in the middle and the senior grades will lose jobs this year. TCS's workforce, as on June 30, stood at 6,13,069.
