Collector Plans to Bring 1 Lakh Acres Under Cultivation

KADAPA District Collector Cherukuri Sreedhar has directed officials to efficiently manage Watershed Development Committees (WDCs) and coordinate with allied departments to bring 1 lakh acres under cultivation by next year.
He issued these instructions during a review meeting at the PGRS hall in the Collectorate on Thursday.
He stressed the importance of utilizing nearby water sources through conservation structures like watersheds, farm ponds, percolation tanks, and rainwater harvesting systems. He called for converting barren lands into cultivable fields and integrating horticulture, natural farming, dairy, and fisheries to boost rural livelihoods.
