SC Slams TN Over ADGP Suspension for 'Abduction Bid'

Such orders shocking, demoralising, apex court questions need to suspend top cop
The Supreme Court on Wednesday questioned the state government over the suspension of Tamil Nadu ADGP (Armed Police) H M Jayaram after the Madras High Court directed the arrest of the top police official in a minor's abduction case.
The top court noted that "such orders (government order) are shocking and demoralising."
"He (Jayaram) is a senior police officer. Where was it required to put him under suspension? These kinds of orders are shocking and demoralising," said a two-judge vacation bench of the top court comprising Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice Manmohan in the order on Wednesday.

Net direct tax collection up 7% during Apr-Nov
