Rubio Calls for Immediate De-escalation

AS tensions flare between India and Pakistan, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Thursday called for immediate de-escalation during a phone conversation with Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
He also spoke to Pakistan Prime Minister.
"The Secretary emphasised the need for immediate de-escalation. He expressed US support for direct dialogue between India and Pakistan and encouraged continued efforts to improve communications," said a statement.
Rubio also offered condolences for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians were killed.
