Punjab chief secy replaces CM as chairman of devp bodies

The Punjab government has appointed the Chief Secretary as the chairman of all local urban planning and development authorities, effectively transferring this responsibility from the chief minister, who traditionally held this role.
The decision, which affects bodies such as the Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA) and Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GAMADA), has drawn sharp criticism from opposition parties.
