Passenger vehicle sales witness moderate growth in March

MARUTI SUZUKI INDIA maintains its lead over other passenger vehicle makers as its sales grew 3% year-on-year to 192,984 units in March.
The auto major sold a total of 187,196 units in the same month last year. Total domestic passenger vehicle dispatches to dealers were at 150,743 units compared to 152,718 units in the year-ago month, a dip of 1%, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement.
Sales of compact cars, including Baleno, Dzire, Ignis, and Swift also declined to 66,906 units from 69,844 units in the year-ago month. Utility vehicles, consisting of Grand Vitara, Brezza, Ertiga and XL6, clocked sales of 61,097 units last month over 58,436 units earlier.
