EXPRESSING anguish and concern over the alleged gangrape of a 19-year-old girl in Varanasi early this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his 50th visit to his parliamentary constituency on Friday, took a detailed briefing from the police and sought the strictest action against the accused.
Modi arrived in Varanasi on a day's visit to launch and lay the foundation for 44 development projects worth ₹3,900 crore. However, he gave priority to the woman's case.
