Himanta promises life term for 'love jihad', jobs for Assam-born

ASSAM will bring a law to ensure that people found indulging in 'love jihad' are given life imprisonment, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday.
Speaking at a meeting of the state BJP executive in Guwahati, he said the government would introduce another law, under which only those born in Assam would be eligible for state government jobs.
"We spoke about love jihad during elections. We will bring a law in the next few days that will entail life imprisonment for those found indulging in love jihad," Sarma said. He added that his government gave priority to the indigenous people in the state government jobs.
