HC declines to stay K'taka caste survey

THE Karnataka High Court on Thursday declined to stay the ongoing Social-Educational Survey-2025 being conducted by the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes in the state.

The court has, however, imposed certain conditions while allowing the survey, taking into consideration the apprehension expressed by the petitioners that the collection of personal information is an intrusion into the right to privacy, and there is no safeguard for the data.
