Speaking at Swabhiman Parv, Prime Minister calls shrine's 1,000-year history mark of victory
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses a public meeting following a procession in Gujarat's Somnath on Sunday
(PTI)
SOMNATH'S thousand-year journey is not a tale of destruction but one of victory, reconstruction and India's unbroken self-pride where invaders faded into history, but faith stood tall by the sea, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the Somnath Swabhiman Parv in Gujarat on Sunday.
Dubbing the Parv "extraordinary in time, atmosphere and purpose," the PM said the celebration was blessed by Lord Mahadev himself "with the ocean's waves, the sun's rays, the echo of mantras and the devotion of countless devotees converging into one civilisa-tional moment."
