EC censures BJP's Ghosh, Cong's Shrinate

THE Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday issued an order censuring BJP MP Dilip Ghosh and Congress leader Supriya Shrinate for their derogatory remarks against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and BJP's Mandi candidate in Himachal Pradesh Kangana Ranaut respectively.
After receiving their respective replies to notices issued to them over Model Code of Conduct (MCC) violations, the poll panel's order said that it was convinced that they made personal attacks and thus violated the provisions of the MCC.
The EC had on March 27, issued show-cause notices on Ghosh and Shrinate for their "offensive", "insulting" and "undignified" comments against the West Bengal CM and Ranaut respectively.
