Drama before Assembly polls: Tej estranged wife

A day after RJD chief Lalu Prasad expelled his elder son Tej Pratap Yadav from party and family after his revelation about his "relationship with a woman" for 12 years, RJD's first family came under sharp attack from Aishwarya Rai, estranged wife of Tej Pratap.

At a hurriedly called press conference, Aishwarya described the entire episode as "a drama" ahead of assembly elections slated to be held later this year.

"The decision to sever ties with him (Tej Pratap) is timed with the upcoming elections in the state," she said. "They knew he (Tej Pratap) was in a relationship with a woman. Then why did they ruin my life? Why did they beat me up? Why was I humiliated time and again? Now they have had sudden social awakening. They all are together," Aishwarya said, referring to the RJD's first family.
