Centre keeps a tab, asks states & UTS to get health infrastructure ready

THE Centre on Sunday asked states and Union Territories to review public health infrastructure amid a spike in respiratory illness among children in China.

The Union Health Ministry said it was monitoring the situation in China and stressed that there was “no cause for any alarm” at present.

The WHO earlier this week requested that China provide information about a potentially worrying spike in respiratory illnesses and clusters of pneumonia in children.
