SIX trainee constables of Punjab Police were relieved from training after they tested positive in dope tests at the recruit training centre in Hoshiarpur.

Sources said the dope tests were conducted at the civil hospital in Hoshiarpur on May 21 after the trainee recruits exhibited suspicious behaviour. Of the six trainees, three are from Patiala district, two from Tarn Taran and one from Ludhiana.

"All six have been removed from the training programme and sent back to their districts," an official said on Monday on condition of anonymity.
