₹ falls to 89.79 over delay in India-US trade deal
The Morning Standard
|December 02, 2025
THE rupee slumped to a new low of 89.79 against dollar on Monday, fuelled by sluggish trade due to uncertainty over India-US trade deal and continuous outflow of FIIs.
The rupee has depreciated over 4.8% in the last 12 months.
However, the Indian currency closed the trade at 89.75, down 49 paise from the previous close. Moreover, traders expect the rupee would touch 90-mark sooner than later.
