DO ANGELS walk among us?
Associated Press brings us an amazing account from Michigan, in the US.Ed Bambas, an 88-year-old grocery worker, will soon ring up his last can of corn, we are told. Bambas was facing terribly hard times. A retiree from General Motors, the long illness and eventual death of his wife meant that, in his old age, he had to return to work - this time in a grocery store, to try to make ends meet.
Yet, just the other day, the 88-yearold Michigan grocery worker was handed a huge cheque for $1.7 million, the result of a remarkable fundraising campaign by a young Australian man with an extraordinary following on social media.
"No, no," Bambas said, wiping tears and sniffles in front of reporters. "Thank you. Oh, my God!"
