Watchdog set to examine kayak drama

A health and safety watchdog is looking into a kayaking incident which sparked a major rescue off the North Tyneside coast.

Emergency services were called to Cullercoats Bay last Tuesday when a group of 32 adults and children were reported to have got into difficulties while kayaking and body-boarding in the North Sea.
