Volunteers deliver aid to Ukrainian community

NORTHUMBERLAND volunteers have delivered a car and aid to a Ukrainian community attempting to rebuild after Russia's invasion.
A damaged home in Makariv
Graeme McGarrigle and Kevin Ord are now back in the UK after a three-day outward journey from Morpeth in a Citroen C4 Picasso packed with airbeds, sleeping bags, toys and hygiene products.
The pair battled wind and heavy rain brought about by Storm Benjamin when travelling through Germany and Poland, before a four-hour border crossing into Ukraine.
They stayed overnight in the Lviv, where Kevin's journey ended, just a week after the city had been subject to Russian drone strikes, but their journey remained safe.
