Tradition broken with Wednesday by-elections

NORTH Tyneside Council is breaking with political convention this year by hosting two by-elections on Wednesday as opposed to the traditional Thursday.
-
The by-elections in North Tyneside were triggered following May’s mayoral election and the resignation of former councillor Pat Oliver.
New mayor Karen Clark's former seat of Longbenton and Benton and Ms Oliver’s ward of Killingworth are up for grabs.
