Time to build on weekend success - Heed manager
The Journal
|September 30, 2025
GATESHEAD manager Alun Armstrong wants his players to build on a ‘massive’ weekend win at Braintree Town when they visit Morecambe tonight.
The Heed went into Saturday's game on the back of a run of six games without a National League win - but that all changed as they produced a solid performance in Essex.
Kain Adom fired Armstrong's men in front with just three minutes on the clock before Kyle Hurst doubled their advantage just after the quarter-hour mark.
Terrell Works got the hosts back into the game on the hour and that set the scene for a backs to the wall job from Gateshead as they held on to collect three points that have taken them into 15th place in the table ahead of tonight’s trip to Morecambe.
Armstrong praised his players for ‘putting into practice’ what they had been through on the training pitch and is hoping for more of the same as they seek to secure back-to-back wins for only the second time this season.
