Thousands expected at Remembrance parade

THOUSANDS of people are expected to gather in Newcastle city centre this weekend to mark Remembrance Sunday.

A military parade will gather at the Civic Centre and form up on Blackett Street at approximately 10.45am ahead of the Service of Remembrance which will be held at the City War Memorial at Old Eldon Square.
The Bishop of Newcastle, the Right Rev Dr Helen-Ann Hartley, will lead the service from 10.58am before a gun signal marks the start of a two-minute silence.
