School pupils help to build new sensory hub

CHILDREN at a Northumberland school have been busy building the first stage of their new sensory hub.
It is it be created and completed over the summer holidays, intended to be up and ready for the September 2025 term.
The much-needed sensory hub is due to be built following the increasing need both within the school community and beyond for sensory-based reasonable adjustments and wider interventions to enable learners to be successful in their educational journey.
Funding of £138,000 for the project at Acomb First School in Hexham has been generously donated by The Harrison Foundation (£128,000) and councillor for Hexham Central Trevor Cessford (£10,000).
