Review into teenage sexual grooming case

AN independent review will be launched into the sexual exploitation of teenage girls in Gateshead by members of a grooming gang.
Five men were this week found guilty of a series of sex attacks on underage girls between 2015 and 2019, some of whom were met and targeted at Saltwell Park.
Gateshead Council confirmed today that a multi-agency safeguarding probe has now been commissioned into the events surrounding the abuse.
Heather Pearson, independent scrutineer of the Gateshead Children’s Safeguarding Partnership, said: “An independent multi-agency review of the case is ongoing and has been commissioned by the Executive Group of the Safeguarding Partnership.
