CHRIS Mepham is the latest Sunderland player to issue a defiant message to Sunderland fans ahead of the Championship play-offs.

The Black Cats have only scored one goal in five straight defeats, and ended their regular season with a 1-0 loss at home to QPR on Saturday.
Despite this, Mepham insisted ahead of their play-off semi-final against Coventry: "Every game has been working towards giving ourselves an opportunity to get into the Premier League.
