Organisers say that local music is a big part of the show's heritage, and are delighted at the new addition.

Northumbrian piper Kathryn Tickell will judge the competition, which is being held in memory of Dave Shaw, an esteemed piper who passed away last year.

Also on this year's line-up at the Bywell Showground are stunt bikes and a mini pony show, alongside the usual agricultural staples.

As usual, the Champion of Champions Parade will be the highlight, with rare breeds of cattle, sheep, pigs, goats and horses all competing to take the overall crown; after Hereford Bull “Rebel Kicks” was named the Champion of Champions.
