‘Phenomenal’ Heed stun Glovers to win seven-goal thriller

ALUN Armstrong hailed his Gateshead squad after they produced a stunning turnaround to make the perfect Bank Holiday weekend with a 4-3 win at Yeovil Town.

The Heed were inexplicably handed a long trip to Huish Park just 48 hours after they battled their way to a 2-1 home win against Tamworth.
The effects of that win appeared to have made an impact as they found themselves second best for the entirety of the first half and went in 3-0 down at the break.
The hosts grabbed the lead on 17 minutes as Junior Morais set up Josh Sims to tap home before the former turned to goalscorer by doubling the lead just before half-hour mark. Harvey Greenslade then rounded off a flowing counterattack in the closing stages of the first half.
