Nurse struck off after working for agency while sick

A NURSE who took agency shifts while she was off sick and called a colleague a “green-eyed monster” has been struck off.

Karen Ann Eden worked as a senior clinical advisor for the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS).

A nursing misconduct hearing heard how she took up agency work for her own financial gain while she was on sick leave.

She then took to social media to call a colleague, who she suspected had reported her, a “green-eyed monster”.

In the Facebook post, from February last year, she named the colleague three times and said: “Jealousy is an awful trait to have and you are areal green-eyed monster.”

A misconduct panel found that she had intended to intimidate her coworker.
