North East football best when derby

FORMER Sunderland midfielder Don Hutchison celebrated the intense rivalry between Newcastle and Sunderland after the sides were finally reunited in the top flight.

The Black Cats spent years in the wilderness before promotion in the summer, and Hutchison believes North East football is stronger when all sides - including Middlesbrough - are in the Premier League.
But Gateshead-born Hutchison, who started his career as a YTS at Hartlepool before a £175,000 move to Liverpool in 1990, is clear - the clubs really don't like each other.
