Newcastle hoping to raid Palace
The Journal
|October 03, 2025
BECKY Langley’s Newcastle United side are under pressure to arrest a run of games without a win when they travel to Crystal Palace in the WSL2 this weekend.
Another weekend of exciting action beckons for the region’s three teams, with two travelling down south for tough tests.
Having lost to title favourites Birmingham City, and last weekend to Charlton who have made an equally great start, Newcastle travel to face a Palace side who beat them in the FA Cup last season and one who drew at Maiden Castle against Durham last week.
It will be no easy task. Palace played well last week and showed great signs of recovery from relegation - they did to Durham what Newcastle did plenty of times last season, by finishing strongly and scoring the equaliser which they deserved.
Newcastle haven’t won in just under a month - achieving one draw in four matches since the victory on the first day of the season.
