New technology centre set to bring 40 jobs to region
The Journal
|May 20, 2025
AROUND 40 North East skilled jobs are set to be created by accountancy firm Deloitte through the expansion of a new technology centre.
Deloitte is launching four technology delivery centres across the UK - in Newcastle, Belfast, Cardiff and Manchester which will focus on providing tech-focused business solutions to clients across the UK.
The roll-out of the centres, which form part of Deloitte's Technology & Transformation business and will be operational from June 1, follow the success of a pilot project at the law firm's Newcastle offices.
The city base initially began with 25 people and has grown steadily ever since, and is now aiming to double the Tyneside headcount to 80 people by 2028.
Senior partner and CEO of Deloitte UK, Richard Houston, announced the new centres alongside Northern Ireland's First Minister, Michelle O'Neill, and deputy First Minister, Emma Little-Pengelly.
