Missing man, 88, is found safe after three-day search

THE Northumberland National Park and North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Teams have issued a joint statement after a missing 88-year-old man was found safe.

Alan Fletcher, from Stockton, was visiting family in Wooler when he went missing on Monday afternoon.

Late on Wednesday afternoon, Mr Fletcher was found by members of the public on a steep hillside to the southeast of Wooler. He was assessed and treated by a North East Ambulance Service paramedic and Mountain Rescue medics.
