Man due in court after roof standoff

A MAN has been charged with offences including assaulting an emergency worker following a rooftop standoff in Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.

The man, Christopher Ormston, 30, of no fixed abode, was due to appear at Newcastle Magistrates' Court yesterday.
