Magpies step up the chase for ace Pedro

NEWCASTLE United are in advanced talks to sign Joao Pedro from Brighton & Hove Albion.
As we reported on June 24, Eddie Howe hoped that this would be the week that United make a break-through in the transfer market and the Magpies are now at least at the bidding stage now. We also brought news of the emergency recruitment meetings at St James' Park and internal calls to the club's Saudi chiefs which have resulted in progress for Howe and his staff.
The Magpies are in high-level negotiations to get the Pedro deal over the line after making it clear to Albion supremo Tony Bloom that they are serious when it comes to signing the three-time Brazil international.
