SUMMER may have just begun but no doubt some early festive excitement will be sparked by news of the return of a winter treat.

Light show set to return even bigger and brighter

The spectacular Northern Lights Newcastle has announced its return for a third year, with new attractions and super off-peak children's tickets available from just a fiver.

The trail, which made its debut in the city's Leazes Park in 2023, will be all-new and will be made up of 15 installations - one more than last year - for visitors to explore during its November 27 to December 31 evening run.

And its creator, family company From the Fields, seems set for an other dazzling success, as previous Northern Lights events have proved a festive treat, attracting a whopping 100,000 people in the first year and, as reported, nearly 95,000 during last winter's run along, with top reviews.
