NEWCASTLE United manager Eddie Howe has been warned that the January transfer window may not provide him with much salvation as he looks to arrest his side's inconsistent form.
The Magpies hoped to have turned a corner last weekend after a stunning 2-1 win over Manchester City at St James’ Park, only to see their woeful away form put a dampener on that enthusiasm just three days later as they fell to a Champions League defeat in Marseille.
The inability to string consistent results together - mainly due to their performances on the road has left Howe and the fanbase flummoxed.
While injuries have hit at times, United still have good numbers in their squad after a £250million summer spend, but former Newcastle, England and Marseille winger Chris Waddle believes the quality in depth still isn’t there yet.
Newcastle have money to spend when the window opens, but finding value could be the tricky part.
