Hundreds send cards as 'glam' Maisie turns 100

RETIRED nurse who celebrated her 100th birthday in a Newcastle care home says she’s been truly touched by the public’s kindness after receiving 480 cards on her big day. Maisie Dalziel also received flowers and thoughtful gifts from strangers on Thursday, June 5.
Staff at Fleming Court launched an appeal for “nicely written cards” ahead of Maisie’s birthday, with the hopes of gathering enough to make her smile. However, they hadn't anticipated they'd receive so many, with walls, tables and windows of the Jesmond care home festooned with well-wishes.
