Heed on hunt for new faces despite registration ban

GATESHEAD remain confident they can ensure a FIFA registration ban imposed on them can be lifted before the new National League season gets underway next month.
The Tynesiders have endured a difficult summer after several key figures departed from the International Stadium since last season came to a disappointing end after the likes of chairman Neil Pinkerton, manager Carl Magnay, club captain Greg Olley and head of recruitment Luke Clark all left the club.
A rebuilding process is being led by new chairman Bernard McWilliams and he has been joined by newly appointed vice-chairman Lawrence O’Halleron as they look to prepare the club on and off the field for the challenges they face during the new campaign.
With new manager Alun Armstrong now in place, the Heed are keen to press on with strengthening a squad that has been depleted by the departures of experienced heads such as Luke Hannant and Robbie Tinkler.
