Funding pulled from non-profit community body

OSSES at Hexham Community Partnership have confirmed the nonprofit organisation will be wound up after the town council made the decision to discontinue funding.
The partnership, which was formed around two decades ago, runs popular events in Hexham like the Spook Night Halloween celebration.
It also owns the town's cinema and manages the No.28 Community House in the east end.
However, the vast majority of the partnership's funding came from the town council. In a statement, chairman Neil Wilkinson said: "The board has, with great regret, agreed to begin the winding up of Hexham Community Partnership.
This follows the recent decision by Hexham Town Council to discontinue grant funding.
"The annual grant from the town council represented the majority of our income and despite significant work behind the scenes, with such short notice, we have simply not been able to quickly identify enough financial support to allow us to continue.
