Free wi-fi is rolling out across city

A CITY-wide free wi-fi network is set to transform Newcastle into "one of the UK's most digitally inclusive and connected cities.

Newcastle City Council has rolled out free wi-fi across council buildings and other venues, including gyms, libraries, commercial buildings and public spaces. It has already been introduced in the Grainger Market, and full implementation is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
Coun Paul Frew said that it furthered the city's reputation as a leader in digital innovation, connected tourism and growth.
