Festival boosts economy by a whopping £1m

THIS summer's Mouth of the Tyne festival has generated over £1m for the North Tyneside economy.

This year's Mouth of Tyne, hosted at Tynemouth Priory and Castle, spanned from Thursday July 10 to Sunday July 13 and saw performances from chart-toppers UB40, Soul II Soul, Sonique, Elbow and Kenny Thomas.
Headliners the Ministry of Sound later stated on its Facebook page the venue was “easily one of the most breathtaking” they had ever performed in.
Following the conclusion of the festival on Sunday, North Tyneside Council has estimated it generated £1m for local businesses.
