Ex-Heed striker Oseni eyes big-money switch
The Journal
|June 26, 2025
GATESHEAD could be in line for a major financial boost with former striker Owen Oseni a step closer to a big money move to League One club Plymouth Argyle.
The 22-year-old frontman joined the Heed last summer on a free transfer following his departure from Derby County and quickly made himself a firm favourite with the International Stadium faithful.
After marking his competitive Heed debut with a goal in a 5-1 win against Ebbsfleet United on the opening day of the season, Oseni went on to score 12 goals in 24 appearances before the turn of the year.
However, after scoring in what would be his final appearance for the club in a Boxing Day home win against Hartlepool United, Oseni completed a move to Scottish Premiership club St Mirren after they triggered a six-figure release clause in his contract.
