'Exceptional entries' at remote country show

ONE of Northumberland’s most remote country shows had “some of the best sheep ever seen” at this year’s event. The Upper Redesdale Show took place in High Rochester at the weekend, celebrating the valley’s agricultural heritage, food, crafts and community spirit.

‘The show has more than 135 years of history, but was brought into the digital age this year with the launch of its first website, inviting visitors to share their best photos. In the industrial tent, Gloria Armstrong won the Lawrence Corbett Challenge Cup for baking, whilst Ellie-May Gaukrodger collected the special prize from Northumberland
